So they finally got around to raiding the offices of  former Fiesta Bowl lobbyist Gary Husk  last Friday,  looking for evidence in the Fiesta Bowl scandle that is already two years old. That’s January 27, 2012.

I’m wondering why this took so long?

If the FBI and Arizona Attorney General’s Office  thought there was pertinent evidence in those files, how is it possible they didn’t get around to looking until now? Pretty lazy, if you ask me.

Let’s review: The Republic first exposed the Fiesta Bowl’s illegal political campaign contribution scheme in December of 2009.  It took until March of 2011 for the Bowl’s own internal investigation–a REAL one, not the phony one it did to try and discredit the Republic–to detail the shocking and disgusting scheme of wrongdoing that soiled the Bowl,  its former director, John Junker and Husk.

But since then, all that has seemed to happen was the indictment last November of  Natalie Wisneski, the bowl’s former chief operating officer who was the one who blew the whistle on the illegal activities.  I’ve always thought that was one of the worst decisions the U.S. Attorney’s office made–they FIRST charge the whistleblower, and not those orchestrating the scheme?  What kind of message does THAT give to anyone who tries to right a wrong?

To this day, Husk and Junker are still just “under investigation”–they claim they did nothing wrong–and law enforcement officials are  just getting around to getting Husk’s files?

Just what in the world has taken so long?
