I don’t know what’s more embarrassing: Jan Brewer lying about her first meeting with President Obama to sexy up her book, or wagging her finger iin his face when he called her on her deceit. But either way, the embarrassment goes to the soul of the state she’s representing and is another black mark on Arizona.

I have been appalled to see Jan Brewer try to make it sound like she did nothing wrong in the tarmack tiff. And that she felt “threatened”????? (Some national commentators think that’s right-wing code for a base racist reaction of a white woman to a black man; I’m praying that at least on this point, they’re wrong.)

Here’s the cold facts: when Brewer first met with the President in Washington in 2010, she gushed that the meeting was “cordial”. I’ve watched the clip on television of her saying it was “a successful meeting, and I’m encouraged by that.” But when she hired a ghost writer to pen “her book” she portrays the meeting entirely differently; now claiming the president was lecuring her and being “patronizing.” Come on, Jan. It’s not nice to lie about the President of the United States.

And that’s what he was objecting to in their tiff on the tarmack. But hey, she’s sold a ton of books since then and been on national television and I’m sure she and her folks think this was a “win” when the real loser was Arizona.

Don’t forget, the President was in town to tout the great work of Intel in building a new plant and creating new jobs and that got overshadowed by our finger-wagging Governor who doesn’t like being caught in a lie.

Then again, Republicans are praying the economy doesn’t get better before election day to give their pitiful candidate–whoever that will be–a chance at the White House. Well, Jan, if you wanted to mess over your own state and your own economy for the sake of some right-wing points, you won again.
