Remember when Walter Cronkite was the voice of calm and reason in the country? If you do, you’re an older adult.
I remember that, and whenever I hear Rich Carmona, with his calm, common-sense, fair-minded ideas, I’m thinking of Walter.
In these days of shrill, mean, nasty campaigning, how REFRESHING it is to hear someone tell us what HE would do if elected; not how evil his opponent is. In these days of misinformation and distorting statistics and, let’s be honest, outright lying, it’s wonderful to hear someone refuse to “spin” anything but his honest desire to use his vast experience and sterling record to represent the people of Arizona.
On the other hand, his opponent is trying to chide him as being “Obama’s man in Arizona.” As though that’s a bad thing– anybody notice what the polls are doing these days? it’s showing a strong liklihood of reelecting our president.
If Rich Carmona wanted to do a tit for tat, he could damage Jeff Flake by calling him “Romney’s man in Arizona.” But Rich Carmona wouldn’t do that–he’s not running that kind of campaign.
